            A favorite in Mexican and South American dishes. This is a perennial pepper that can return year -after- year. The Bailey is an improved version (not GMO) to the original which has better disease resistance and you can harvest by machine or just shaking the bush. Citrus flavor or smoky if dried (with wood). Originally know as the Wild Birds Eye Pepper we normally sell out of these early in the season due to their popularity.

  • A favorite in Mexican and South American dishes. Small pepper. This is an improved version (not GMO) to the original which has better disease resistance. Citrus flavor or smoky if dried (with wood).

    • Heat rating is about 30k - 60k Scoville
    • Germination is about 14 days with true leaf to harvest at about 100 days.
    • Is shade tolerant to 35%
    • Drought resistant after established. If frost gets it, just cut it back and many times it will recover.
    • Use seed starting mix initially and transplant in an organic potting soil.
    • Prune for a more prolific crop and keep the roots moderately dry/moist to increase production.
    • Keep warm while germinating, and transplant when possible frost is gone and average nighttime temp is above 68 degrees.
